Camera Arms by Outdoor Dreams Hunting Products

After discussing these camera arms with Scott Hopperdietzel of www.outdoordreamshunt.com we knew we had to try them out and see how they faired in our stands this season.  Scott explained to me that he builds these camera arms to be affordable and easy to use for the casual to the serious outdoor videographer.  He also seemed to be very high on the type of fluid head that comes with these arms.  Knowing that the type of head used can be pivotal in making or breaking a good camera arm, I decided to see for myself if Scott’s enthusiasm was warranted.  I’m happy to say it is! If you’re looking at purchasing a serious camera arm with a high grade fluid head without having to take out a second mortgage on your home, take a look at these!

Scott offers two different versions of the camera arm, a standard and a pro model (both in olive drab color)

The main difference in these two models that we could see is how the arm connencts to the base portion (tree attachment).  The Pro models gives a higher degree of adjustability than the standard model but both models are equally easy to mount to the tree.

Scott also offers the fluid head and tree base for sale separately in case you want multiple mounting options or even want to try the fluid head on an existing arm.

The arms are made out of aluminum and come with a 5 foot ratchet strap and leveling system for those crooked trees out there.  The entire unit weighs about 3 pounds and we found it easy to stow in our packs.   The joints are smooth and didn’t bind up or squeak in our cold NY weather.

The Standard arm package (with fluid head) sells for $120 and the Pro Model (also with fluid head) sells for $150 at http://www.outdoordreamshunt.com/apps/webstore/

These camera arms have worked flawlessly this season for us and continue to aid us in trying to bring you more hunts in our FieldTrips videos.
If you’re interested in documenting your hunting heritage, take a look at these camera arms.  They’ll make videoing your hunts easier and you give you a higher quality final product whether you’re making videos for your buddies or for the big screen!
