Wolverine Forester Boot

Wolverine Forester Boots (8 inch)

One look at these boots and we knew we needed to try them out chasing around forest chickens this spring.  There are three main aspects we look for when reviewing a hunting boot.  Those are: Comfort, Waterproof ability, and durability.  The Wolverine Forester boot achieves all of these qualities extremely well and is a great buy for a non-insulated hunting boot.  Wolverine has been in the boot business for 125 years so it was not surprising to us that the Forester is one hell of a boot.

When they arrived, the feature that caught our attention first was the rubber lug outsoles.  The bottom of these boots look like sneakers on steroids!  We figured that this would translate into comfort and we’re happy to say that we were NOT wrong.  These boots are among the most comfortable we’ve ever tested and found almost a zero break-in period with them.  The rubber outsole not only makes the boot comfortable, but also provides great traction and slip resistance.  Comfort?……..Check!

We logged several hours in these puppies during our spring season and found them to be very good at wicking moisture away from your feet.  Combined with a performance sock, the Wave mesh lining of the boot itself and removable mesh sock liner did a great job of keeping our feet dry from the inside.  As for keeping water out?  These boots combine waterproof leather, sealed seems and heavy duty construction to keep the water out.  We found that these boots did a great job of keeping the water out when crossing streams.  Waterproof? ………Check!

The leather on these boots seems already soft and broken-in right out of the box.  We wondered if that would cause the boot to wear down more quickly after prolonged use…….Uh, nope!  These boots are constructed extremely well and we could not find one stitch that was compromised after heavy use this season.  They still look ready to rock and roll for the fall and we’re pumped to continue wearing them.  Durability?……….Check!

If you’re wondering if we found any fault with the Wolverine Forester boot, the answer is NO!  We might like to see a pull strap on the back of the boot but honestly, these boots rock!  We always take a price tag of $100 + seriously and these boots are no joke.  They are well worth the money.  We found them online for about $109 HERE  or you can  visit the Wolverine site HERE!
