Jake with "The Tooky River Buck"

Well because of a brain fart Roll Eyes it took me a lot of time on the range dialing in my 22-250. The coyotes here in NH now need to worry about death from a distance from a new hunter. Not that I think I’ll be shooting over 250 yards in most places but there are a few farms around here that I can get that kind of a shot off plus further. So if they decide to circle me to wind the action, it will be fun to see the "frozen in death" look on their face as I’m grabbing them by the tail holding ‘em up Grin

What are your thoughts on shooting them in the summer? There are a few people I know of that say they won’t hunt them in the summer due to pups or the hides not being good or in sellable condition. I look at it this way; I’m not selling the hides. I’m out there to control the numbers and keep the predation kills on deer and turkeys low. If a few in the litter don’t survive because I took out mommy, then I just saved on future ammo cost Wink

I have a local farmer that has two coyotes running their property that they want removed. I feel in order to keep my standing as a long time hunter on their property and a thank you; it’s my job to help them out when they need it…no matter if it’s with stacking hay or firewood or removing unwanted critters.

Ain't no summer yote hunting here in NY... Sad  So the biologists say, the more pressure put on the yote population, the more they reproduce! Shocked

They (coyotes, not PETA  Grin) have been real active behind my house, real close, where I shot my 9 point.
